We are currently experiencing a problem with our main website, where all pages are showing a 404 not found, yet they are present.

No other services are affected by this current issue.

We are looking into this issue and hopefully will have an update / fix to this issue asap.

@ 5:45 Website is now back up & running, we have taken measures to ensure this will not happen again.

@ 5:30pm We are looking at a possible cause for this error, i will update with further information as i get it.

@ 3:10pm Website, is still redirecting to the billing system, we will be making some changes shortly. There should be no downtime involved. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Customer services are not affected.

@ 2:10pm Website is still redirecting to billing system, we are still investigating.

@ 1:45pm Website is still showing our billing panel at www.xfileservers.net, we are investigating what could be causing this to happen. I will update in 1 hour time.

@ 10:20am Website is showing billing pages & other sub domains, bus is not displaying main content we are investigating.

Last week on Tuesday 10th November at 19:58 we saw a complete outage of our main site.

This was caused by a corrupt file system. From Tuesday through to Thursday the linux box has been FSCKing, unfortunatelly this took over 3 days to complete.

The server seemd to take approx 5 seconds to check 100 Inodes. It’s upto around Inode 70740000 – the majority are being checked/fixed. Want to know what an inode is?

The problem we had is then it got to inode 98337000 it should have been close to finishing, but it dropped back down to inode: 9207789.

A few hours later, we started to see results and managed to recover all our files. We then .Zip’ed the whole site up and moved it to another server, in fear of having a repeat performance.

To ensure this does not happen we have taken measures to ensure, we have a second site which should come online should one fail.

Usally this should have taken only a few hours, but this turned into days.

Gaming, Dedicated, Voice, Web-Hosting services were not affected.
